Australian researchers confirm that they registered world fastest ever internet data speed.
Researchers in Australia claim that they have recorded world fastest internet data speed of 44.2 terabits per second (TBps).
At this speed users could download more than 1000 High-Definition movies in less than a second.
Researchers from monash,Swinburne and RMIT Universities claim that they achieved the record by using a device that replaces around 80 lasers found in some existing telecom hardware with a single chip known as a "micro bomb".It produced highest amount of data ever forwarded by single, optical chip.
The micro bomb worked as a "splitter"to divide the fiber into 80 unique channels. The researchers found that each of the split channels had the same capacity as the original one,So basically it multiplying the amount of data send and recieve.
The trial fiber connection research has been published in Journal NatureCommunications.
Interestingly,Australia's NBN infrastructure is very similar to the infrastructure using the
microbomb source used by a broadband network to achieve this speed.
