Microsoft one of the most Oldest Browser going to Retire and Edge Legacy
The World's most renowned Company Microsoft has announced that it will end support for Internet Explorer and Legacy Edge browser across its Microsoft 365 Apps and Services by August 17 Next Year. However this does not mean that users will not be able to use Internet Explorer. Closure means Closing of any technical support i.e. Company will not issue any updates.
Microsoft will start the process of shutting down Internet Explorer 11 from November 30,2020 this year. Edge browser will also be closed in March 2021.After March 9,2021.Microsoft Edge Legacy Desktop App will not receive new security updates.
When Microsoft stops supporting these browsers, either they will be completely shut down or the 365 Apps are running in them will not run properly, which will be discontinued. After this, users will not be able to use many features.
Microsoft also stated that the IE successor, the Microsoft Edge browser, would move completely onto Google's open source Chromium Platform. Neither IE nor Edge are popular any more. Barely 1.3 percent of the world's surfers used Internet Explorer used IE in July 2020,and Cynics would suspect that many of those IE windows were opened by accident. Microsoft Edge only has about 2.2 percent market share.
Google Chrome is far the most popular browser, with 66 percent market share across all platforms. Apple fans prefer Safari(16.65 percent).Geeks use Mozilla's Firefox (4.26 percent) and Opera (2.05 percent),so google dominance of this space is even more extreme than it looks at first glance.
Internet Explorer is Shutting Down After 25 Years
Internet Explorer was released by Microsoft on 16 August 1995.It was introduced under Add on package plus with Windows 95.Its writer is Thomas Reardon. Microsoft Internet Explorer's programming language is C++.It is also a big coincidence that 25 years of Internet has been completed in India this year and on this occasion Internet Explorer has also announced to say goodbye to the world.
