What is GPS ?
GPS stands for Global Positioning System.It is a Satellite Based Navigation System made up of at least 24 satellites.GPS works in any weather conditions,anywhere in the world,24 hours a day ,with no subscription fees or setup charges.
Basically GPS is made up of three parts:Satellites,Ground Stations and Receivers.
- Satellites serve like a star-Many GPS Satellites are on six orbits around the earth at an altitude of about 20,000 kilometers and revolve around the earth at 12-hour intervals.As we know the satellites are near the earth they continue run like a stars but they are not stars.
- The Ground Stations uses radar to make sure they are actually where we think they are.
- A GPS Receiver is something that you find in your Mobile Phone,Car and also in Watch also.It continually receive signal from the satellites.The receiver constantly check how far away they are from some of them. Once the receiver calculates the whole distance from four or more satellites.
How does GPS works ?
